Dr. James has been with the Atlanta Counseling Center since moving to Georgia from California in 2004. He has degrees from The University of Texas at Austin, Rosemead School of Psychology and Dallas Theological Seminary. He evenly divides his time between therapy, psychological testing and teaching graduate studies at two different universities. He sees adolescents, adults, individuals and couples; his interests and specialties include personality disorders, anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, spiritual/personal growth, men’s issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anger management. He also does extensive work with marital therapy issues related to conflict, communication and parenting, as well as with the other myriad issues with which couples regularly struggle. In addition, he has been certified in the Prepare/Enrich assessment and therapy system since 1996, and thoroughly enjoys doing pre-marital work with couples in the months before they get married. He offers full psychological and psychoeducational assessment batteries to children and adults for issues such as ADHD, Learning Disabilities, career, intelligence and achievement, as well as for diagnosis and treatment planning for almost all other psychological issues. He makes his home in north Atlanta with his wife, Annie, and their three children.
